Xojo Web Chat

Published on August 2, 2019.

Back in March, I started working on a Xojo-based Web chat application. It was an experiment to see what it would take to develop a chat application using nothing more than Xojo's Web framework. I was surprised at just how easy it was - and even more surprised to find that the application could handle a significant number of users and messages being broadcast.

As a "thank you" to the Xojo community for helping me test the app, I'm making it available under an open source license. You can find it online, here: https://tdietrich-opensource.s3.amazonaws.com/xojo-web-chat-v2019r1.xojo_binary_project.zip

Please note that I cannot provide free technical support for the app - or for any of my other open source solutions. If you need assistance, please post to the Xojo forum.

About Me

Hello, I’m Tim Dietrich. I design and build custom software for businesses running on NetSuite — from mobile apps and Web portals to Web APIs and integrations.

I’ve created several widely used open-source solutions for the NetSuite community, including the SuiteQL Query Tool and SuiteAPI, which help developers and businesses get more out of their systems.

I’m also the founder of SuiteStep, a NetSuite development studio focused on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on the platform. Through SuiteStep, I deliver custom software and AI-driven solutions that make NetSuite more powerful, accessible, and future-ready.
