Back in January, I shared a technique that you can use to get information about a NetSuite account's database schema by leveraging the API that powers the Records Catalog. I'm using that technique in the latest version of the SuiteQL Query Tool.
In the new version, when you are working on a query, you can now easily get access to a table's columns, as well as information about the table's joins. To do so, simply type a table name, followed by two periods. A window will appear showing the table's information.
Here's an example of the feature.
One of the most frequently requested features that I receive from users of the tool is column name autocompletion. While this new "table help" feature isn't as helpful as autocompletion would be, my hope is that it will provide a foundation for adding autocompletion support in a future release.
The new version of the SuiteQL Query Tool, which is free of charge, is available now. Click here to download it.
