This morning I released Aloe XWS, an open source Xojo module that makes it easy for developers to create Web services / APIs, microservices, middleware, and more.
I developed Aloe XWS as an alternative to Aloe Express, and the main reason for doing so was that I found that I simply wasn't using the majority of Aloe Express's features. I wanted a more streamlined version of Aloe to work with - one that made the type of development that I do (which primarily involves Web services, middleware, etc) even easier. So I started with a blank slate, and developed Aloe XWS.
I wrote yesterday about my decision to move from Xojo to PHP for my Web development work, and so releasing XWS now might seem a bit odd. However, I decided to share Aloe XWS so that other developers - especially those who have been using my older Aloe and Aloe Express modules - have an option.
Aloe XWS is available for download at https://aloe.zone.
