Product Search API & Promo.Zone Search Engine Enter Beta Testing

Published on August 7, 2018

Last week I announced that I was working on a PromoStandards-based product search API. Today, I'm happy to announce that the API is now being beta tested - along with an interesting new Web site that demonstrates what the API can be used for.

I'm calling the API the " Product Search API." Detailed information about it, including documentation on how the API works, is available here:

To demonstrate how the API can be used to provide users with the ability to search across PromoStandards-based product information, I've also developed a Web site that I'm calling This is a publicly-accessible site that gives visitors the ability to perform keyword searches across the API's database. Relevant products are displayed in a list, and the user can click on a product that they are interested in. They are then presented with detailed information about the product, including its description, marketing points, related products, product availability, the primary photo, and more. If you'd like to try the search engine out, visit:

Here's a screenshot of the Web site.

It's important to note that this is just a beta of the API and that the search engine still needs some work. But I think it's a good start. I'm hoping to clean up the search engine's design soon, and then add additional product info the service's database.

In the meantime, if you have any feedback about the API and/or search engine, please drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you!
