iOS Simulator 8.1: Missing Keyboard Issue

I was working on an iOS app this morning, and ran into a strange problem. When I tested the app in the iOS Simulator, and clicked into a Text Field, the iOS keyboard didn't appear.

After poking around in the simulator's options, I found that there are options for how the keyboard behaves. They are tucked under the Hardware > Keyboard menu, and they look like this...

To active the iOS keyboard, simply un-check the "Connect Hardware Keyboard" option (or use the Shift-Command-K keyboard shortcut). That will enable the iOS keyboard. An example is shown below.
