FM Authenticator Released to Beta

It's official! FM Authenticator, a two-factor authentication service that I've been developing for the FileMaker platform, has been released to beta. Included below is the press release announcing the beta test. -- Tim

Richmond, VA -- March 15, 2014 -- FM Authenticator, a two-factor authentication service that enhances the security of FileMaker databases, is now available for public beta testing.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication is a technique that requires users to provide two forms of identification in order to access a system. Those two factors are sometimes described as being "something the user knows" and "something the user has."

How does FM Authenticator work?
When a user logs into a database that is being protected with FM Authenticator, a 4-digit code is sent to their mobile phone as a text message. The user must enter the code in order to complete the login process.

About the Beta
The beta test will run through April 30, 2014, during which time the service will be provided free of charge.
