Over the past few months, I've received a number of emails about Airtable from users of Bento. Bento is (or was, rather) a personal database application for the Mac and iOS. While Bento was discontinued by FileMaker Inc. back in September of 2013, apparently quite a few people are still using it.
The emails that I've received ask whether or not Airtable is a possible alternative to Bento. The answer is yes, and getting data from Bento into Airtable is surprisingly easy.
In this video, I show you what's involved in getting data from Bento into Airtable. I show you how to export data from Bento and use it to automatically create a new Airtable base. I then show how you can adjust the new Airtable base to make it as efficient as possible to work with.
